Artist Spotlight: The Riverside

Nostalgic folk harmonies inspired by the vistas of the American West.

In case you missed their show at the Murphys Irish Pub last year, here is the video:

And here's a brief history to date of one of our favorite bands:

• The Riverside is an energetic and engaging folk band originally formed in Southern California in 2012 to compete in a battle of the bands.

• Founding member Jake Jeanson (songwriter and guitar) won the competition, allowing them to release their first album.

• Following years saw the band experiment with songwriting styles, eventually finding success when Jake's wife Lorien Jeanson (mandolin and harmony) joined the lineup.

• They toured throughout the US with a rotating cast of friends playing theaters, venues, festivals, and living room concerts.

• Influenced by classic genres like The Eagles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and Crosby Stills Nash & Young as well as modern acts such as Fleet Foxes, Mandolin Orange, and The Head and the Heart.

• 7 albums released to date with more on the way; current lineup consists of Jake Jeanson, Lorien Jeanson, James Page, Chase Fierro, Trey Lindsley and Kristen Posey.
